Recent garden visitors

It’s early August now and the butterflies are visiting every day. Every time I see one enter the yard I jump to action to try and get a photo.

Butterflies

In the last 7 days, I have captured these beauties-

Spicebush Swallowtail

I spotted these three beautifully colored butterflies while working in my back garden this morning. They’re so pretty! I love finding native wildlife in my garden, it always makes me feel so connected to nature. These butterflies were probably searching for nectar from the flowers, and I’m glad I was able to provide them with a little bit of food. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for more of these lovely creatures in the future!

Black Swallowtail

Butterflies are often seen as delicate creatures, but they play an important role in the environment. As pollinators, butterflies help to fertilize plants, allowing them to produce fruits and vegetables. In addition, butterflies are a food source for other animals, such as bats, birds, and reptiles. Finally, the bright colors of butterflies can add beauty to the natural world. Consequently, butterflies are not only beneficial to the environment but also play an important role in the ecosystem.

Monarch

UPDATE: Just got another new one. An Eastern Swallowtail butterfly.
